ician.  Her symptoms were congestion, wet sounding cough.  Her Dr. stated th inside of her nose looked like "red jelly-beans."  She has a Hx of Asthma.  Her lungs were clear.  The sxs.  usually were in the afternoon.  She is on scheduled Pulmocort Nebs BID.  The Xopenex was PRN.  Her Dr.  started the Xopenex TID and the Nasonex BID is a new Rx.  She also takes Claritin routinely.  We have noticed increased runny nose, mouth watering to the point of drooling.  She still has the cough periodically.  It is like she can't control her saliva.  Are these side effects of the Xopenex and/or the Nasonex?  Lungs are still clear; no SOB noted; no wheezing.  She enjoyed her Pulmocort neb treatments.  Now she cries with the Xopenex nebs.

Kleanlogic,

I'm not a doctor, but I think your 3y.o. granddaughter is mucgh too young to be taking cotisteroids & Claritin which all carry worse side effects than her original problem. Her pediatrician sounds like an idiot to me. He sounds like he thinks "practicing healthcare" is just writing prescriptions instead of addressing the "real issue" what's "causing" these problems in your grand daughter. I'd find a better doctor, someone who's not getting paid to push dangerous drugs...
