Hi Tek,
In the future, it would be helpful if you could ask a specific question, so I don't have to guess what you're trying to find out. As it is, I can't tell if you're trying to determine if your symptoms might be allergies or if you already know you have allergies and you're asking why they might be worsening.
However, I can tell you that an itchy throat may be an allergy symptom, as can a dry cough be. And allergies often keep sufferers awake at night. If you've never been diagnosed, then I would encourage you to contact a doctor to be evaluated.
If you know you have allergies, but are wondering why they've gotten worse, there can a be a number of reasons. Perhaps you have seasonal allergies and pollen levels are high. For instance, in Texas, temps have been running 70 to 80 for some time now. Cedar trees are definitely in bloom at this time of year and can trigger allergies, but with those warm temps, other things may be blooming too.
Or perhaps you've added a dog or cat to your environment? The key is to look at what may have changed recently and do what you can to eliminate it from your sleeping area at least.
If you have allergies, are you under treatment? If not, talk with your doctor about the right approach for how you are feeling. There are many choices and the one that is best for you should be a joint decision between you and your doctor.
To your health,
Kathi
