Friday, December 03, 2010 Deb asks

Q: Is Clindamysin a safe antibiotic for a child with food and mold allergies?

She is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, dairy, eggs, wheat and soy along with environmental allergies including mold. It's suspected she has an infection after a dental procedure but I'm really nervous to give her the Clindamysin.

Hi Deb... According to the NIH, there are precautions with using this medicine if you have allergies, asthma or eczema, so I would be sure to check with her pediatrician before using the Clindamycin.
