Q: How to you deal with family that don't want to believe your children's doctors?

My daughter had asthma, eczema and allergies.  Her doctor had us take her for allergy tests.  The results came back and she is extremely allegric to dog and cats as well as peanuts, milk, eggs, corn, shrimp and seasame seeds.  Our doctor recommended that she doesn't go to my parents house anymore (their dog has been causing her to have really bad reactions).  My brother and mother think I am overreacting to this news.  They claim no one has ever died from a dog allergy and I shouldn't stop her from going to my parents house.  How do you deal with family that doesn't believe in the doctors or you?  We want to limit our daughter to as much of the things she is allergic to as possible... how is that over reacting?  She is five and cries a lot because she itches.  Her skin is rough and blotchy, people give her weird looks and she is now old enough to realize why they look at her like that.
