Monday, September 28, 2009 laught asks

Q: Does Allegra work well for a mold allergy?? Zyrtec and Claritin aren't doing much.

My experience is that different people respond differently to different medications. I find that Allegra works best for all of my allergies, including mold allergy. But other people swear by Zyrtec or Claritin. You might just need to try a month of Allegra and see how you respond.

 

Depending on whether you have insurance, the upside to Allegra is that it's still a prescription med, so it might be covered by insurance, while the other 2 are both sold over the counter. The downside is Allegra's more expensive if you have to pay out of pocket.
