Q: Allegra 10mg OTC vs Allegra 60mg. Are the doses comparable?

I want to use up the Claritin I already have before filling the RX for the Allegra.  Are the doses comparable?  I have very mild, but very annoying intermittent allergy attacks.

Claritin, Allegra and Zyrtec are all very similar but different second-generation antihistamines. Although they are all considered to be equally effective in controlling allergy symptoms, people do find that they react somewhat differently to each medication. For instance, I find that Allegra provides the best relief for me when my symptoms are at their worst. But both Claritin and Zyrtec do work for me, just not quite as well. Other people swear by Claritin or Zyrtec.

My advice is to try your Claritin. If it works, great! If not, move on to your prescription for Allegra.

Kathi
