i'm allergic to eggs, and am wondering what kind of low-fat breakfast protein I can substitute

I want to do the south beach diet but am breastfeeding.  My son is allergic to (possibly nuts so I'm not eating them) and eggs - am wondering what foods I can substitute?  Does anybody have any suggestions?  Thanks -

Tofu has lots os proteins and can be bought in soft or firm textures depending on the dish you're cooking. It has a lot of protein, but if food allergies are a concern, then you need to note that tofu comes from soy, one of the Big 8 Food Allergens.

There's also a product called Ener-G Egg Replacer that I have seen in vegan cookbooks. It's made from potato starch and tapioca.

When you're looking for substitues, be careful not to swap out one allergy food for another? Read this article about hidden food allergens to know what t0 look for.
