Hi Christina,

While there are doctors on the site that serve as resident experts, they can not make medical diagnosis on the site. If you are interested in having a second opinion, which is perfectly legitimate, then you should find another doctor. Perhaps a call to your medical insurance group asking them for a referral is in order?

In the meantime, here are some links to information that might help you find information that will guide you in asking the doctor questions about your health. Here is a section about Neuritis and the different types. Retrobulbar Neuritis, involves inflammation of the back of the eye.

Hi Christina,

If you are interested in having a second opinion, which is perfectly legitimate, then you should find another doctor. Perhaps a call to your medical insurance group asking them for a referral is in order? While Health Central is a great resource, it can not take the place of your doctor's solid medical advice.

In the meantime, here are some links to information that might help you find information that will guide you in asking the doctor questions about your health. Here is a section about Neuritis and the different types. Retrobulbar Neuritis, involves inflammation of the back of the eye. Retrobulbar neuritis can be caused by a variety of conditions, including:

*Infections such as meningitis, syphilis, and various viral illnesses

*Multiple sclerosis

*Tumors

*Exposure to certain chemicals or drugs

*Allergic reactions

Or it can have no cause at all.

Anyway I hope this helps. Please stay in touch and let us know how you are doing!
