Hi Jamie,

You can be allergic to just about anything. So, it's entirely possible that the symptoms you are seeing could be an allergic dermatitis reaction, if where you are seeing the redness is where you put the lotion. However, an allergy is not the only thing that can cause redness and swelling in the skin, so you might want to get it checked out by a doctor. It might be an infection or some other skin condition too.

To your health,

Kathi

«most definitely.  my children and myself are very allergic to aloe vera and have found that it is sometimes not listed as an ingredient on skin care products.  i have found that now, aloe vera is in many baby products and i have even found it on sanitary products.  «i now only buy skin care products from companies which will list all the ingredients on the package or who will provide a listing of all the ingredients used.

What type of reaction do you & your family have? I have been searching the web to see if anyone has a similar reaction to mine. Half of my tongue swells & also part of my face. Thanks

I am  also very allergic to all Aloe Vera products.  I tried it twice and you would have thought I had been scalled by hot water by the reaction. I am struggling to find an antibacterial hand wash without it, can you help?  I carry toilet paper  in my handbag when I am out and about incase there is any aloe vera in the toilet roll where I visit.

I think companies should put it in bold letters if there is aloe vera in their products as it is not the miracle product for everyone.

I have recently been having an allergic reaction which causes my tongue & face  to swell. It has been very difficult to figure out what is causing this reacion. I finally think I narrowed it down to aloe vera. Other than vegetable surfactants, or coconut oil, it is the only ingredient I can narrow down. While I was having this reaction I went on EDSA testing and cacti & succulent plant allergy came up #1. This is the other reason I believe it is the aloe. So be careful it is in everything from soaps to shampoo. I try to use mostly natural products and it is in many of them, now that I am reading labels.
