my son throat becomes red every month and he eats nothing and fever also comes?

my 3 year old son has a problem from last five months that his throat becoms red and he is not able to eat anything. In the starting doctor thought that there is some bacterial infection but now they are saying he has some kind of allergy. please suggest what to do becuase every month we have to give antibiotic which is not good for his health?
