Q: Contrast Dye and Iodine

I recently went to the Mayo clinic to be tested as a potential kidney donor for my wife. They performed many tests and 2 tests included iodine injections and contrast dye injections. The first day I received a iodine injection for one test and received a contrast dye injection for another test the second day. The second night I went to Outback and ate steak and lobster with a ceasar salad. On the drive to the Hotel from Outback I began feeling very sleepy. I told my wife that I felt tired and didn't know if I could make the drive. Moments later I felt horrible. I did not feel sick to my stomach. I felt like I was having a hard time breathing at first. My eyesight then began to get foggy. Next I began to feel very dizzy. I decided to pull the car over and let my wife drive. When I got the car stopped I felt really bad. I opened the door and walked to the back of the car. I felt like I just needed some fresh air and to walk it off. About that time I fell to the ground. My wife freaked out. She said I blacked out. I don't think I really blacked out because I remember everything including my head bouncing off the ground. I got up quickly and tried to calm my wife. I told her I was okay and asked her to finish the drive. I still felt a little bad but much better. Within a couple of minutes I felt bad again. We reached the hotel and I immediately went to the restroom. Once I went to the restroom I felt much better and have had no problems since. It has been about three weeks and I have eaten fish, shrimp and lobster since with no incident. Could the levels of iodine in my system due to the medical tests and eating lobster cause this reaction? We are scheduled for transplant surgery June 30th and I have been a little worried about this incident. With all the tests they ran on me I would think they would have found any other problems.
