Q: Is it possible to know when I developed my allergy to latex?

I am a nurse and was exposed to powdered latex gloves in the early ninetys.Symptoms included rashes across both cheeks(red and weeping), sneezing, watering eyes and mild asthma.I worked with this until powderd gloves were removed from the work place, and the majority of the symptoms subsided. I still tolerated the latex gloves causing red, sore hands.I was only diagnosed in 2006( type 1 ) following an operation where i had a massive anaphylatic reaction. In between my first symptoms and my anaphylactic reaction I had another operation(keyhole) where I was exposed for several hours to latex in/next to my blood stream, where to my recollection i had no symptoms. Other than general post op problems. My question is: Is it possible that I had a latex allergy in the beginning, or would you expect someone with a latex allergy to react to the first exposure in the blood? Or is it the same as antibiotics and that you don't react to the first time in the blood stream it's the second time? Also if you would expect a reaction what reactions would you expect.Would it be severe or could it be just mild. Or is it impossible to know?Thank you very much for your advice on this matter!
