The first 3 days she had nausea and would vomit if she stood up. Morphin was stopped on day 2. Day 4 she felt better and was transferred to Rehabilitation Center. Her BP had also been elevated for those 4 days. Day 5 she started to develop redness and a rash over the leg that was transplanted and on her neck. All medications she was currently taking or had taken she had taken before with no reactions. Day 6 the rash had spread to her entire back and buttocks (looked like a bad sunburn). Very hot to the touch. Day 7 the rash has spread to the back of her other leg, and under her armpits. Day 8 the rash spread to her cheeks, hairline, and parts of her stomach. Day 9 now it has spread to her entire chest, 60% of her stomach and on the top part of her other thigh. Rash looks like again a bad sunburn, warmest areas are raised, and there are areas that look like little red raised spots (like a mosquito bite) to the new areas being attacked. My thought was she could be allergic to the implant and her body was rejecting it, but when we looked at her site, the staples are intact, the wound is clean with no signs of infection. Also on Day 9 (today) she had a temp. of 103 and she refused to go to the ER cause she felt fine. She had not had a temp the entire time since the surgery. Her BP came down and was normal on Day 5. She was told she had a UTI 4 days prior to surgery and was placed on Cipro 500mg 2xday however no C&S was ever done. She was placed on a high dose of prednisone on Day 6 and has been on prednisone since. Still with no changes. All labs are normal with the exception of WBC's but of course they could possibly be elevated given the prednisone. She can't get in to see her Orthopedist till next week, and she has an appoitment to see the Dermatologist in 2 days. She has no breathing problems at this time. She is taking her Advair since she has asthma due to seasonal allergies.
