First off, I wouldn't assume your child has the same thing as you do (urticaria). There are many causes of skin rashes, and it can be hard for a non-professional to distinguish between types of rashes. Your baby might have something infectious, rather than allergic in nature. So, I would strongly encourage you to get the rash looked at by your pediatrician before you begin any treatment, especially medicine.

If the rash is urticaria, then one of the gentlest, most effective medicines on the market is Children's Zyrtec, which is for kids 2 years and older. But again, I wouldn't give this before having the rash checked out by your doctor. Also, you would want to eliminate allergic triggers from your baby, if the rash turns out to be allergic in nature.
