Hi Carolyn, Thank you for your question. Zyrtec and Claritin are similar medications - they are both known as antihistamines. However, the Zyrtec-D has an additional ingredient that is a decongestant, which helps to relieve stuffy nose symptoms. If you aren't having a problem with a stuffy nose, the Claritin should work for you, and it may cause less drowsiness than the Zyrtec does. I hope this helps! Best of luck, Casey
