why does my pink eye not go away after 3 months of therapy.

my eyes strarted to bother me in May but was told it was an allergy. June it got worse on and off. eyelids were swollen and one day one eye watered the next day the other eye.

by July it was worse. when to eye doctor who told me i have a bad bacterial infection. 

he prescribed antiboitics for 3 weeks and 2 eye drops to be used 4x a day and an ointment to be used before bed. the eye drops i was to use for the full month. i went back for check up and was told to keep using the drops for another 15 days and i could stop. 

i didnt use the drops on the last day at night and i woke up with crusty red watery eyes.

he told me to use drops for another 10 days.

i cant use these drops for the rest of my life!

any advice for me?

i live in corfu greece.
