Q: The only antihystamine that doesn't knock me out is phenergan (which I use PRN for nausea). Can it be used for sinuses? I have either a mild sinus infection or new allergies.

The mucus builds up terribly at night and I frequently wake up choking.  I also notice that in the night, when I wake up to blow my nose, and cough up the grossness, my mouth and tounge are in desperate need of brushing, which I am finding myself needing to do 3 to 5 times per night lately.  In the daytime, it is simply irritating and gross with the tickling, sneezing, drainage, and blowing my nose.  I am not experiencing sinus headaches or facial pain.  My face is visibly swollen in the morning, before my shower; and only slightly during the day time.  And lastly, I should mention that the sinus issue is neither getting better or worse.  It seems the stay on the same icky cycle each day and night.

(I am not sure if it is related, but when the sinus issue began 5 days ago, I also developed an intense worsening of my acne, which is still persistant and unresponsive to acne treatments.)

(P.S.  Much like with antihystamines, decongestants and expectorants also put me to sleep.)

Thank you so so much for your help!  I have not experienced sinus allergies (or possibly a mild sinus infection) before, and I am very grateful for any ideas or advise.
