Q: What is the cause behind salicylic acid sensitivity in the body? I am trying to figure out why I would not have sensitivity in the past and then become sensitive now?

Hi Claire... The thing about allergies is that they are unpredictable. They can occur in response to things that you have never been allergic to in the past. Sometimes it takes repeated exposures to develop a sensitivity to something.

Alternatively, sometimes allergies go away. For instance, I used to be deathly allergic to cats, but have now lost that sensitivity. It can be really weird.

The body and how it works is very mysterious...
