Q: I have known food allergies. Is my recent abdominal and back pain on the right side related?

I have known food allergies, as well as a bunch of other outdoor and animal allergies. Lately I have had some severe pain on my right side, both the upper and lower abdominal area as well as my back. Spent an afternoon in the ER, and the tested for kidney stones, gall bladder and they did an ultra sound- all test came back negative. Was sent home with mild pain killers to manage pain.. But I still have it. Could the pain be related to my food allergies. I stay away from food I know I am allergic to. Nuts and salmon. Wondering if there are some unknown allergies that I should be tested for.

I'm not exactly sure how 'up' or 'down' your pain is - but it occurs to me to wonder if you might be having a problem with nuts causing or aggravating diverticulosis/diverticulitis.  This is where pouches form in the large intesting (which loops up the right side of your abdomen, goes across to the left side, and then down in an S-curve (sigmoid curve) to end in the rectum.  Have you every had a colonoscopy?  I don't know your age ...  Did they consider any causes in the liver?  That's also on the right side. (I just had a liver biopsy myself, and they found nothing but low iron  - and I already knew I was anemic!)  But I don't usually have right upper abdominal pain.  (only one time did I think I had a bad gall bladder attack for about 1 day, and it went away - I just didn't eat until it was gone)
