Absolutely, this can happen. Especially stinging insects in the bee family like wasps or hornets. So, if you are allergic to stinging insects, you'll always need to have a plan for treatment, such as carrying an Epi-pen (auto-injectable epinephrine). Simply wearing long-sleeved shirts and pants may not be enough, though they will certainly provide some protection.
