Just finished antibiotics and prednesone for sinusitus, but drainage and cough persists. Could this be an allergic reaction and would an antihistamine be in order?

Hi Jay, It's hard to tell from here, but I think that it's more likely your sinusitis is still at work than that you're having an allergic reaction to the medication. I wouldn't advise an antihistamine without speaking with your physician first.
You want to get the treatment that's most appropriate for what's actually going on in your body, and no one over the Internet can answer that question for you. It should come from your own doctor, so give him/her a call, OK?

Thanks Kathi, I appreciate the response. I called my doctor today and he prescribed a strong antibiotic (Avelox) because he feels that I have an active respiratory infection.
