  Hi Willy,   It is difficult to say whether you were bitten by a spider or some other kind of bug. More importantly, is the wound healing? If not, you should have a doctor take a look at it. Certain kinds of spiders have toxins which may cause some severe soft tissue inflammation and scarring (Brown Recluse, Black Widow). Your wound should be a lot further along in healing at the time of this posting. Sorry it took this long.   For future reference, cleaning the wound with soap and water, oral Benadryl (caution for drowsiness and fatigue), ice (early on), Tylenol and Calamine lotion around the bite may be helpful. Of course, get medical help if you have fever, chills, numbness, worsening pain or swelling at the wound.   Yours,   J. Thompson, MD
