Hi Kat,

The answer to most food allergies is a simple one... don't eat/drink the food!

There is no real prevention for food allergies through medicine. You just have to avoid what sets you off. Food allergies can be dangerous if you continue to expose yourself to foods that cause an allergic reaction, because over time, that reaction can become worse and worse and may turn into allergic shock, which is a life threatening condition. Allergic shock (anaphylaxis) might happen after 2 exposures or 20. There's really no way to know.

You may want to consult with an allergist to find out more about whether wine truly is a food allergy for you. But if I were you, I wouldn't fool around with it. I'd stop drinking wine.

To your health,

Kathi
