Hi Nakito... Unfortunately, even though salt pipes and salt caves have been widely used throughout Europe for several decades to treat various respiratory conditions, there isn't much real scientific evidence about their effectiveness. I haven't read anything about them in relation to adenoid swelling.

However, there is little risk in trying them. They don't have side effects. So if you want to try it with your infant, it probably wouldn't be harmful. Although I can't really picture it being easy to teach such a young child how to use it.

A nebulizer is something else altogether, as that is a breathing machine used to deliver a specific type of medicine. Sounds like you might need to get some more information from your son's doctor about that. Or consider having your son evaluated by a respiratory specialist.

Best,

Kathi
