Q: Does PROMETHAZINE 12.5 mg come in a orange tablet with 5138 in front & V on back

I have two different prescription for PROMETHAZINE 12.5 mg tablets.  One of the prescription's tablet is white with ZC 01 on the front and nothing on the back and very small in size.  The other prescription is an orange tablet with 5138 in front & V on back and small in size.  Both drugs where manufacture by Qualitest.  Are these tablets the same medicine?

The orange tablet is definitely Promethazine 12.5 MG. I am prescribed the same medication but I cannot be sure of the white tablet you have described. Please contact your pharmacist about this white tablet or any prescription before taking unless you are absolutely sure about it. I have had many different strengths and manufacturers of this medication and have never seen ZC 01 on any them but that's only my experience.

Good looking out. If only we could all be this aware, all of the time,  a lot of ER visits would be avoided and lives would be saved.
