Hi Kevin,

Benadryl is in the FDA pregnancy category B. This means that it is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. However, you should never take any medicine during pregnancy -- whether over the counter or prescription -- without first checking with your obstetrician to make sure it is safe.

Best,

Kathi

I dont think so I asked the Doc what I could take for sinus and allergy and he said Clariton and Tylenol SInus were the only 2 I am 17 wks along but you could always call your Doctor and see based on your particular circumstance you may be able to.

I had to go to the ER due to an allergic reaction while pregnant.  They gave me Benadryl and said it was safe as long as I follow proper dosing.

Benadryl is a class B medication. Studies show that there is no reason it should harm an unborn child. I got this information from my allergy doctor.
