Thank you for taking my question.  I am a nurse and I have a 9 month old granddaughter who has an allergic reaction to possible soap detergent.  She is exhibiting a rash on her neck and torso.  Can Benadryl be given?  Her weight is 17 pounds 7.73kg.

Her pediatrician will be called if symptoms continue.

Thank you again.

Benadryl is not approved for use in children under the age of 2. Your best bet would be to consult her pediatrician.

An allergy is the immune system's over-reaction to a normally harmless substance called an allergen.
