Q: Are Shrimp and Penicillin related when it comes to allergies? I am allergic to Penicillin and I am curious as in if I can eat shrimp without breaking out in hives.

I'm not aware of any direct relationship between shrimp allergy (a food allergy) and penicillin allergy (medication allergy), although it could be possible that farm-raised shrimp are treated preventively with penicillin. Whether that would still be present by the time you eat the shrimp, however, I don't know.

I am allergic to penicillen and I eat lots of shrimp. Some people however are allergic to shellfish. You could eat a few and see that way or go to a specialist and they can do many test on you to see just what you are allergic too.
