Hi Evelyn,
Levaquin is an antibiotic that is often used for sinus infections, bronchitis and pneumonia. It is not used for allergic rhinitis (hayfever). People that have allergic nasal problems and asthma often suffer from infectious complications that include sinusitis, otitis (ear infection) and bronchitis. Levaquin may be considered for treatment of these infections. Levaquin is usually reserved for moderate to severe infections, or second line treatment (after another antibiotic has failed). You see, Levaquin is a very strong antibiotic that may not be necessary as first line treatment for an upper respiratory tract infection.
You seem to be suffering from eye allergy. Antihistamines taken orally or in the form of eye drops may be helpful for treatment of eye allergy. Have you ever had allergy testing?
Allergic nasal symptoms are treated with antihistamines, oral decongestants, prescription nasal sprays and a few other medications. These medications may be prescribed for use in combination depending on the level of severity and a person's previous response.
An allergy specialist may be very helpful in treating your upper and lower airway problems. Follow-up with your doctor after doing some more research.
