Is it possible to have tested negative for food allergies now when, 15 years ago, I had a blood test that showed I

was allergic to everything they tested me for, and most were in the moderate to severe

category?

When it comes to allergies, almost anything is possible! Allergies are often unpredictable and they do come and go. We now know that we don't truly "outgrow" allergies in most cases, but they can wax and wane over the years at times.

 

But it's also possible to have false positives and false negatives with allergy testing. You might want to discuss the feasibility of re-testing with your physician. Keeping a food diary after exposures to foods you thought you were allergic to can also help you identify allergic reactions.
