Swollen/puffy eyes...Possible result of a product just sprayed:CedarCide YardSafe Non Toxic Lawn &
I have swollen and puffy eyes today, the only thing I can think of is this product I sprayed yesterday called - CedarCide YardSafe Non Toxic Lawn & Garden Spray. Could this be an allergic reaction for me?
Hi Patricia,
It's always possible to be allergic to chemicals such as those found in gardening preparations. But, since this is spring allergy season, it's entirely possible that you are also reacting just to being outside yesterday and breathing in all kinds of tree and maybe grass pollen, depending on how advanced your growing season is in your neck of the woods.
To treat your eyes, take your antihistamine and consider using antihistamine eye drops, such as the new over the counter Alaway (or something similar), as well. I've also found that intermittently applying ice in a cold wash cloth to my eyes provides additional relief from swelling, irritation and puffiness.
If the eye problem worsens or doesn't start to resolve within the next day or so, be sure to call your doctor for further advice and possibly evaluation.
To your health,
Kathi

If you have tree allergies, Cedarcide probably caused a mild reaction. I used the cedar oil formula (Best Yet) with a fogging machine yesterday, & have hives all over today - but I'm also very allergic to trees. My asthma is not having the harsh reaction I expected (although that's probably attributable to maintenance inhalers - but nonetheless, it didn't kill me!) The smell dissipates quite quickly, but you don't want to be in or around it (after fogging) for at least 24 hours. Asthmatics & allergy sufferers should be especially careful - at least wait one day before re-entering you home. ALSO - if possible, have a friend or family member perform the actual fogging itself if you're asthmatic! It doesn't appear to bother normal lungs at all, yet my severely asthmatic lungs felt full of "something awful" after completing the fog. It went away in about 24 hours, but still not something to mess around with if you have breathing probs...
