Hi Patricia,   It's always possible to be allergic to chemicals such as those found in gardening preparations. But, since this is spring allergy season, it's entirely possible that you are also reacting just to being outside yesterday and breathing in all kinds of tree and maybe grass pollen, depending on how advanced your growing season is in your neck of the woods.   To treat your eyes, take your antihistamine and consider using antihistamine eye drops, such as the new over the counter Alaway (or something similar), as well. I've also found that intermittently applying ice in a cold wash cloth to my eyes provides additional relief from swelling, irritation and puffiness.   If the eye problem worsens or doesn't start to resolve within the next day or so, be sure to call your doctor for further advice and possibly evaluation.   To your health, Kathi
