Is it dangerous to take my shellfish-allergic eight year old son to a week long beach vacation?

I will ask his allergist this question shortly. The facts are I think I can successfully control what he will ingest even though there are so many seafood restaurants there.... My doctor has advised us to give our 3 year old one dose of Pulmicort on a daily basis during the Cold & Flu season.  Not being a fan of taking meds to take meds, has anyone else experienced this?  If so, were you successful in preventing serious respiratory problems with your child?
