The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has set up a Web site to give consumers advice on the best ways to dispose of certain medications. The site gives particular emphasis to the disposal of opioid painkillers, which can be harmful or deadly if taken by someone other than the person for whom they were prescribed.
