Food allergy facts need more attention: survey

A new survey has found that facts about food allergies are not well known by the general public. Most mistakenly believe that food allergies can be avoided by use of daily allergy medication, and more than half of the people surveyed believe there is a cure for food allergies. The survey of 2,148 adults is a concern, experts say, because ignorance could prove fatal for children who have food allergies.
