Thousands of allergy sufferers claim that taking a spoonful of local honey every day has eased their pollen allergies. Experts say honey contains trace amounts of allergen, and taking it over time--starting weeks before the allergy season begins--may be able to build up the body's immune system. Studies have not found any evidence that honey eases allergies, but many who use it point to their own relief as evidence.
