According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), food dyes commonly used in foods from cereals and candy to fruit drinks may cause hyperactivity, allergic reactions, and even cancer. The authors of the report say three of the most-used dyes--Red 40, Yellow 5, and Yellow 6--are known carcinogens, and have been linked to ADHD and cancer as well.
