A study at the University of Chicago has found "no significant difference" between the over-the-counter drug Sudafed 24 Hour (pseudoephedrine hydrochloride) and Singulair (montelukast) in relieving hay fever symptoms like nasal congestion, sneezing, and itching. Sudafed 24 Hour costs about 80 cents a day, compared to $3.20 a day for Singulair.
