Steroid nasal wash may ease sinusitis

Chronic sinusitis--a frustrating and painful disorder that affects up to 14 percent of Americans--may be eased with a steroid nasal wash, a small study has found. The nasal wash was a mixture of the corticosteroid budesonide and saline. Of the nine participants, all reported an improvement in the symptoms of sinusitis. However, experts point out that the budesonide is not approved for the treatment of nasal inflammation, and it was being used off-label.  Read full story >
