    FDA reviewing safety of asthma drug Xolair

    The  U.S. Food and Drug Administration is reviewing data that may link the asthma drug Xolair to heart problems such as heart attacks and strokes, Federal regulators said Thursday. Preliminary data on 5,000 patients suggests a possible link, but experts are quick to point out that some patients may have been predisposed to heart problems. Researchers say the data is by no means conclusive, and they urge patients to continue taking the medication as prescribed.  Read full story >
