Allergy drugs may fight diabetes, obesity

According to researchers, over-the-counter allergy and asthma drugs helped diabetic mice lose weight and control their blood sugar in a recent study. They found that the mice who were given Zaditor and cromlyn allergy meds along with a healthy diet improved almost 100 percent, while those who were given a healthy diet alone improved moderately. Scientists say the good news is that they know these allergy meds are safe in humans, however they don't know if the drugs will be effective against diabetes and obesity.  Read full story >
