High stress days may worsen allergies

Conventional wisdom claims that high stress can aggravate your allergy symptoms, and a new study backs that up. Researchers at Ohio State University subjected hay fever sufferers to skin prick tests on two consecutive days. On one day, the group had to give a speech to a panel, and had to solve math questions in their head. The next day, patients were given more relaxing tasks such as reading magazines. Researchers found that allergy markers were higher on high-stress days, and they remained high for 24 hours after patients had completed their tasks.
