Many asthmatics take their medications improperly

Researchers in Northern Ireland say that many asthmatics risk asthma attacks because they aren't honest with doctors about how often they take their medications. In a study, researchers found that 35 percent of people studied did not take all of their medication during a given time period. Women were less likely to take their meds regularly than men. Experts say that not taking meds regularly isn't only dangerous, it can be expensive as well, since doctors may prescribe progressively more expensive therapies in an effort to get symptoms under control.
