It is so important for families affected by Alzheimer's disease to reach out for assistance - and care. The Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA) can help. AFA has a team of licensed social workers ready to answer your questions, respond to a crisis, educate you about the disease, provide counseling on how to deal with challenging behaviors, and provide referrals to local resources.
We will be monitoring and commenting on HealthCentral on a regular basis. In addition, we invite you to call our toll-free hot line. We engage in conversations between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM Eastern time, Monday through Friday. Call toll-free 866-AFA-2323. Messages may be left at other times and a social worker will call you back. In addition, the team will respond to questions sent via email - firstname.lastname@example.org.
