Dharma, Great post... and it's comforting to know that I can grow new brain cells! Like you, I was there in the 60's enjoying music and life in general! I'm certain that I killed a few brain cells back then, as a matter of fact. Trying new things is good therapy for many reasons. The enjoyment of mastering (or even attempting) something can't be overstated. When computers were relatively new, I bought one and struggled to figure the thing out and make some use of it. Back then it cost me $1,000 and today isn't worth the cost to haul it off to the recycler. The real value however, came in my ability to develop a new skill that continues to develop and get used. I hope that my $1,000 investment over a decade ago has resulted in many new brain cells. If so, the dividends justified the investment! Thanks! -- Joe --
Dear Joe, you are absolutely correct, your investment WILL pay off dividents in the long-run. Very good comment and you are wise to keep stretching yourself to learn new and interesting things. Continue that you and you will keep your brain healthy. Here's to your brain health!
