    Thank you.

I was one of those that felt like the grinch had stolen Christmas and had decided not to put up the tree or decorate the house. My husband and I have always treasured Christmas and really use to get into it. He is so sick and I thought why bother. I was having a really good pity party as he now stays mainly in his room and rarely ventures out. One day I was watching TV and saw this child riding a red tricycle. We have a 21 month old great grandson that my husband still recognizes. I rememberd my husband talking about how excited he was the morning he woke up to find santa had left him his tricycle. It hit me like a bolt of lightening. 2:00am and I am in the attic getting out decorations running around like crazy decorating the house and then at 9:00am I went out shopping and found the brightest red tricycle I could find. I rushed home and put it under the tree. I called my granddaughter over and she and my great grandson were in the livingroom when I finally coaxed my husband out of his room. It was all so worth it. His eyes were filled with tears and he sat and watched his great grandson being pushed by his mommy on his tricycle. My great gradson giggling and laughing and my husband smiling through the tears was worth all the hard work and effort I put into the decorations. My house looks like santa's elves took over and maybe they did help a little you never know what your christmas miracle will be. No it didn't last long but it was worth every second and you can bet I have pictures.

Call your realtives brush off those decorations and put up that tree. Get your loved one out if it only last a second it is totally worth the joy on their faces. They are still in there. Take Christmas back from the Grinch (aka alzheimers) look through old pictures and find your loved ones favorite memory you know it just give it some thought or if possible ask them and then recreat it. It works.

    Thank you so much. Connie
