Lethargy

Hi Everyone: It's been a while since I've written and kind of missed the gang here! My mother is still hanging in there and so am I. But she seems to have moved to a different level. She still hallucinates often enough. But for the past month her nights have been surprisingly quiet and restful. Also, and more upsetting to me, she seems to have "gone into herself". She's...

Sleep Induced Hallucinations

Hello Again Everyone: I've posted this before and haven't gotten any feedback. Has anyone had similar experiences? My mom goes "in and out" - for several days she can be fine and other days, well you all know. But I've noticed that often when she nods off she goes into "another world" and engages in "activities" which stay with her when she awakes. For...

Sleep Induced Confusion

My mother sleeps a fair amount during the day. Just can't keep her eyes open regardless of whether she's had a decent night's sleep. I've noticed that oftentimes as soon as she closes her eyes she kind of goes into another world. Though asleep her hands will move about (like reaching for something, sewing or eating motions). Wherever she is in her "dream state" tends to stay with her long...

Sleepless Nights

My mother often has restless, sleepless nights - hallucinations, delusions, agitation, yelling. In desperation, sometimes I give her a sleeping pill prescribed by doctor. Problem is pill only works for 2-4 hours. Then it starts all over again. We've tried both Restoril and Ambien CR. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience with a particular brand of sleeping pill that might be more effective? Thanks.

Sporadic delusions

My mother's mind can be clear as a bell and then within the span of a couple of hours, delusions/hallucinations/confusion take hold. I read little about delusions/hallucinations as part of Alzheimers. But can mental status change so rapidly within a short time span? It's almost like a demon has taken hold. Does anyone have any advice to share?
