As a care giver I have been amazed at what is involved in caring for someone with alzheimers. My aunt (by marriage) is who I have taken over the care of. She is 83 years old.     I so agree with you about their place in heaven. It's hard to have a loved one in an assisted living facility or a nursing home, but it sounds like you have found a good one, and have determined how to be an active part of your aunt's life. Keep up the good work!
