Hello, a very powerful, consice, moving, and completely true account of what so many many caregivers have also learned by them selves through personal experience with a family member living with the symptoms of dementia. Wonderful post, Dorian. I remember how I was scolded by doctors stuck in current thinking (years ago) for getting into my dad's world rather than insisting he get into ours. Dad didn't have AD, but he did have dementia. Now, of course, the "validation theory" is, um, validated. 

Dementia is at fault, not the person. Your post reminds us all that we always need to remember that.
