I am a long-time member of the LifeSharers organ donation program, mainly because I was shocked to learn that every year Americans bury or cremate 20,000 transplantable organs. That means about 8,000 Americans die needlessly every year just waiting for an organ.  As of March 31, 2008:  * Li...

Thanks so much for your post.  This seems like an interesting and well worthy organization.

Anyone have additional thoughts on organ transplant or want to speak of a scenario of their own?  If so place you comments here - we'd like to hear them.

LifeSharers is a better way to donate your organs. It's free. It could save your life. LifeSharers helps you donate your organs to other organ donors.

By joining LifeSharers, you will accomplish three things:

    • You will increase your chances of getting an organ transplant should you ever need one. As a member, you will get preferred access to the organs of other LifeSharers members.
    • You will help reduce the deadly organ shortage. Offering your organs first to other organ donors creates an incentive for non-donors to become donors.
    • You will help make the transplant system fairer. About half of the organs transplanted in the United States go to people who have not agreed to donate their own organs when they die.

Everyone is welcome to join LifeSharers. There's no age limit, and parents can enroll their minor children. No one is excluded due to any pre-existing medical condition.

    Please join LifeSharers. It's free.

    It could save your life.
